iProGadgets OEM Repair Parts for the Lenovo ThinkPad T430s 0A66687 — Screen Reference and Fitment Check

Quick answer: this is a brand-new 14.0 inch HD 1366 x 768 non-touch screen for the Lenovo ThinkPad T430s, part 0A66687 / FRU 04W3651, matte anti-glare TN on a 40-pin LVDS connector. Check your resolution first: the T430s was also sold with a 1600 x 900 screen that is the same size and the same plug, and the two do not interchange in either direction. If your machine runs 1600 x 900, this is not your part. Every unit is double tested before shipping and covered by a 30-day return window on unused, uninstalled parts.

  • Fit: The 14.0 inch HD 1366 x 768 non-touch screen for the Lenovo ThinkPad T430s — machine types 2352, 2353, 2354, 2355, 2356, 2357 and 2358 — under part 0A66687 and FRU 04W3651. 40-pin LVDS connector at the bottom right of the panel, slim frame, matte anti-glare, no touch layer
  • Panel: a TN panel, 1366 x 768, matte anti-glare, 200 nits, on a 40-pin LVDS connector — non-touch, so there is no touch layer, no digitizer glass and no touch lead. TN is what this machine shipped with, not an economy substitute: the viewing angles are narrow and that is normal for a T430s
  • Testing: every unit is double tested before shipping — display check and fitment check against the machine it is sold for

Technical Specifications

Item Detail
The machine this screen is sold for The Lenovo ThinkPad T430s, machine types 2352, 2353, 2354, 2355, 2356, 2357 and 2358. This is the slim build of the T430 generation, not the standard T430 — its lid, bezel and several internal parts differ, and a panel that fits one does not automatically fit the other
Part numbers covered 0A66687 and FRU 04W3651. The parts catalogue resolves 04W3651 to a 14.0 inch HD anti-glare panel
Screen size 14.0 inches diagonal (355 mm), 16:9, about 112 PPI
Resolution — check this first 1366 x 768 (HD), 16:9. This is the number that decides whether this is your part. The T430s shipped with two 14.0 inch panels that share the same physical size, the same 40-pin LVDS connector and the same mounting: HD 1366 x 768 at 200 nits and HD+ 1600 x 900 at 250 nits. They are not interchangeable in either direction. Suppliers of the HD+ panel say outright that fitting it to an HD machine produces a fuzzy or white picture. Check what your machine runs today: Windows, Settings, System, Display, Display resolution
Panel technology TN (twisted nematic), transmissive, with WLED edge backlighting and no separate backlight driver. Because it is TN and not IPS, the viewing angles are narrow — colour and contrast shift noticeably when you move off centre, especially vertically. That is the panel this machine shipped with and it is not a defect. 16.7 million colours, matte anti-glare surface
Surface finish Matte anti-glare, and this is a point worth reading rather than skimming. The Lenovo specification sheet for the T430s lists anti-glare for both of its 14.0 inch panels and does not offer a glossy option; the Lenovo parts catalogue resolves this FRU to a 14.0 inch HD AG panel as well. Retail channels describe the same code three different ways — glossy, matte, and 'matte or glossy, tell us at checkout' — because they reuse one generic description across many parts. We stock the anti-glare panel that both manufacturer documents describe. If the screen you are removing has a mirror finish, photograph the label before ordering: a glossy unit is a different assembly and we will tell you honestly whether we can supply it
Touch No — non-touch. There is no touch layer in this panel and no touch connector on it. No T430s was offered with a touchscreen
Signal interface and connector LVDS, 40 pins, at the bottom right as you look at the back of the panel. Because this is the non-touch build there is no second or third lead to release — one plug, not two. LVDS is the older signal type: this machine predates eDP, and an eDP panel from a later ThinkPad will not connect to it even where the size matches
NOT the 1600 x 900 panel for the same machine The same 14.0 inch size, the same 40-pin LVDS connector and the same slim frame were also sold as HD+ 1600 x 900 at 250 nits, and that is a different panel. The two are not interchangeable in either direction, and this is not an upgrade path: suppliers of the HD+ panel state that fitting it to an HD machine gives a fuzzy or white picture. Check the resolution the machine runs today under Settings, System, Display. If it reads 1600 x 900, send us the label photo and we will quote the right panel
NOT the T430 / T430i / T420 / L430 / E431 The T430, T430i, T420, T430si, L430 and Edge E431. Resellers cross-list FRU 04W3651 against all of these machines, and we do not. The T430s is the slim build — its lid, bezel and some of its internals differ from the standard T430, and a panel that fits one does not necessarily fit the other. If your machine is a T430 or a T420, send us the model from the underside label and a photo of the screen label and we will quote the correct part rather than ship this one on a guess

Before We Ship — Please Send Us These 2 Details

This machine was sold with two different 14.0 inch panels that look identical from the outside: 1366 x 768 and 1600 x 900. Same size, same 40-pin plug, same frame — and they do not interchange. After you place the order we will contact you for the two items below, so please have them ready:

  1. The resolution your machine runs today. In Windows: Settings, System, Display, Display resolution. It will read either 1366 x 768 or 1600 x 900. This is the single detail that decides whether this panel fits — if it reads 1600 x 900, we will quote the HD+ panel instead of shipping this one.
  2. A photo of the label on the back of the old screen. The panel carries a sticker with its own code on it, for this part, alongside 0A66687 or 04W3651. That label settles both the resolution and the finish, and it is far more reliable than the model name on the lid.

We check your photo against our stock before dispatch. If something does not match we will contact you first instead of sending a part that may not fit. Once your details are confirmed we arrange shipment within 1 to 3 business days. Thank you for helping us get it right.

Installation Notes

  • Unplug the power cord and remove the battery before you start. The LVDS connector is not designed to be mated or unmated with the board energised.
  • Hold the power button for a few seconds afterwards, so the board discharges.
  • Remove the bezel by pulling it from its inside edge — the edge that touches the screen — working around the frame with your fingers. This is the method Lenovo documents, and going at it from the outside edge is far harder and usually breaks a clip.
  • With the bezel off, undo the four Phillips screws holding the panel and lay it face down on the keyboard. That gives you room to reach the connector without straining the cable.
  • Release the 40-pin LVDS connector on the bottom right as you look at the back of the panel. Lift the latch before pulling, and never pull on the cable itself.
  • Clean the flex cable contacts with alcohol before assembly and confirm the connector is fully seated and latched.
  • Do not pull, tear or push on the flex cable, be careful during installation.
  • Test the panel on the connector before you refit the bezel and keep the protective film on until it works. Check afterwards that the resolution reads 1366 x 768 — if it reads something else, the machine and the panel do not agree.
  • Please handle the screen carefully, because the panel is too fragile to take any pressure on its face.

Quality Control

Strictly tested by the iProGadgets QC Team — every unit is double tested before shipping and ships in good working order, including a display check at full resolution. After receiving the part, please check the appearance and test it first: connect the part to the machine for a functional test before full installation, and only reassemble once everything works. We are not responsible for any installation mistakes — if you are not experienced with laptop screen replacement, have the part fitted by a professional repair shop.

Shipping

We ship worldwide. Orders are dispatched within 1 to 3 business days, and every package carries a tracking number you can follow on the order page. Delivery typically takes 7 to 10 days after dispatch.

Returns & Warranty

30-day returns on unused, uninstalled parts. The warranty is valid until installed — once a screen has been fitted, the return window no longer applies, which is why we ask you to test before installation.

FAQs

Is this the 1366 x 768 panel or the 1600 x 900 one?

This is the 1366 x 768 panel — the HD one, part 0A66687 and FRU 04W3651. The T430s was also sold with a 1600 x 900 HD+ panel that is the same 14.0 inch size, uses the same 40-pin LVDS connector and sits in the same frame, so the two look alike until you read a resolution. They are not interchangeable: suppliers of the HD+ panel state that fitting it to an HD machine gives a fuzzy or white picture. Check yours under Settings, System, Display, Display resolution before ordering. If it reads 1600 x 900, send us the label photo and we will quote the HD+ panel.

How do I check that this is the screen I need?

Three checks, none of them needing tools. First, read the resolution the machine runs today — Settings, System, Display. It must read 1366 x 768, and often 0A66687 or 04W3651 as well. second, confirm the machine is a T430s and not a T430, T420 or L430 — those are a different chassis and resellers cross-list this FRU against them incorrectly. Send us a photo of the panel label and of the underside sticker and we will match both before dispatch.

The screen I took out is glossy — will this matte one work?

The Lenovo specification sheet for the T430s lists anti-glare for both of its 14.0 inch panels and does not offer a glossy option, and the parts catalogue resolves this FRU to a 14.0 inch HD AG panel. Retail listings that describe the same code as glossy are usually reusing one generic description across many parts. That said, if the screen you are holding has a mirror finish, photograph its label and send it to us before you order — a glossy unit is a different assembly, and we would rather tell you honestly that we cannot supply it than send a matte panel you will return.

Why are the colours so poor compared with my other laptop?

Because this is a TN panel, which is what the T430s shipped with. TN gives fast response and low cost but narrow viewing angles: colour and contrast shift as you move off centre, most obviously when you tilt the lid. On this generation of ThinkPad that is normal behaviour, not a fault in the part we send. If you were hoping a replacement would improve the picture, it will not — a new panel of the same type looks the same as the old one did when it was new. IPS panels exist for later ThinkPads, but they are a different connector and a different chassis.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this part compatible with my device?

This listing is for Display For Lenovo ThinkPad T430s 0A66687 04W3651 14.0 inch HD LCD Panel. It is built as a direct-fit replacement for the model named in the title. Match the model number in the title against your own device before ordering. If you are not sure which version you need, email sales@iProGadget.com and we will confirm the correct part for you.

What is the quality of these replacement parts?

We supply iProGadgets OEM Quality / Premium Compatible replacement parts. Every part is manufactured to OEM specifications, so the fit, finish and function match the original component it replaces, and each unit is individually tested before it leaves our warehouse.

Is the part tested before it is shipped?

Yes. Every part we sell is inspected before dispatch and tested wherever testing applies — screen assemblies are checked on the panel, the touch response and the connector. Orders are processed and shipped within 1-3 business days after payment is confirmed.

How long does shipping take?

Orders leave our warehouse within 1-3 business days. Express Shipping (DHL, UPS or FedEx) takes 5-8 working days and is normally used for parcels over 2 kg. Registered Air Post takes 10-20 working days and is normally used for parcels under 2 kg. Every order ships with a tracking number. Customs clearance can add extra time, especially during peak season.

Will I be charged import duties or customs fees?

Customs charges depend on your own country's import rules and its de minimis threshold, not on the seller. Some destinations apply no duty at all on lower-value parcels, and where duty or VAT does apply it is collected by your local post office or courier before delivery. We ship every order with complete and accurate commercial documents, which is what keeps a parcel moving through customs instead of sitting in it. If you would like to estimate the charges before you order, email us your country and we will point you to the right authority.

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day return policy, which means you can request a return within 30 days of receiving your item. To be eligible, the item must be unused, uninstalled and in the packaging it arrived in. Once a part has been fitted, bonded or used it cannot be returned, so please test the part before installation. To start a return, email sales@iProGadget.com.

What should I do if the part arrives damaged or faulty?

Inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If an item is defective, damaged or not what you ordered, contact us at sales@iProGadget.com straight away with photos or a short unboxing video, and we will arrange a replacement or a refund.

Do you provide repair guides or installation tutorials?

No. We are a supplier of replacement parts only. We are not a repair shop, and we do not provide repair guides, tutorials or step-by-step installation support. Every part we sell is intended to be installed by a professional technician at a qualified repair shop, which also gives the best result: a technician can transfer the small components, handle the adhesives and test the finished repair. Please do not attempt the installation yourself if you have no previous repair experience, as these assemblies are fragile and incorrect handling can damage them permanently. We sell parts only and do not accept responsibility for installation carried out by the customer. Our warranty covers the part itself and remains valid until the part is installed. If a problem appears after the repair, please take the device back to the repair shop that fitted the part so they can inspect the installation and test the device.
