iProGadgets OEM Repair Parts for Panel B140XTN03.0 / B140XTN03.1 / B140XTN02.3 — Screen Reference and Fitment Check

Quick answer: this listing covers three panel codes that are the same part electrically and mechanically: B140XTN03.0, B140XTN03.1 and B140XTN02.3 — 14.0 inch 1366 x 768, TN, 200 cd/m², 60 Hz, 40-pin LVDS, non-touch. The one visible difference is the finish: B140XTN03.1 is matte, while B140XTN03.0 and B140XTN02.3 are glossy. Two checks before you order: the plug on your old panel must be 40-pin LVDS — the B140XTN03.3, B140XTN03.4 and B140XTN02.6 codes that read almost the same are 30-pin eDP and will not connect — and you should know which finish you are replacing, because a glossy screen ordered to replace a matte one is a refund, not a repair. Every unit is double tested before shipping and covered by a 30-day return window on unused, uninstalled parts.

  • Fit: the 14.0 inch HD 40-pin LVDS panel under codes B140XTN03.0, B140XTN03.1 or B140XTN02.3 — 1366 x 768, non-touch, 3.3 V, eight face-mount holes along the top and bottom edges. Order on the code alone if you have it off the label; the machine name is only a hint, the label is the part
  • Panel: a TN panel, 1366 x 768, 200 cd/m², 60 Hz, on a 40-pin LVDS connector at 3.3 V — non-touch, one plug, no separate digitizer and no second lead. All three codes share the same active area and the same mounting holes. TN is the part people are surprised by: colour and contrast shift when you move off centre, most of all vertically. That is how this panel behaves, not a fault
  • Testing: every unit is double tested before shipping — display check at full resolution and a dead-pixel check across the whole surface, on the bench, before it is packed

Technical Specifications

Item Detail
Part number B140XTN03.0 (glossy), B140XTN03.1 (matte), B140XTN02.3 (glossy). The dot is sometimes printed as a hyphen (B140XTN03-0) and the trailing revision digit is often left off in shop titles. All three are the 40-pin LVDS build of this family. Tell us which code is on your old panel — the suffix after the dot is the finish, and it is the only thing that changes between them
Condition Brand-new, unassembled
Quality iProGadgets OEM Quality
Size and resolution 14.0 inches diagonal, 1366 x 768 (HD / WXGA), 16:9, about 112 PPI. Active area 309.399 x 173.952 mm. Same size as the HD+ and FHD panels of the same era, which is exactly why the resolution has to be read off the label rather than judged by eye
Panel technology a-Si TFT-LCD, TN, normally white, transmissive, WLED edge backlight with the driver built into the panel. 262K colours, 45% NTSC, 45/45/15/35 degree viewing angles with the best image at 6 o'clock. Narrow vertical angles are normal on TN: tilt the lid to suit your eye height rather than expecting an IPS picture
Surface finish Depends on the code — this is the row to read carefully. B140XTN03.1 is matte anti-glare, 3H hard coating. B140XTN03.0 and B140XTN02.3 are glossy, haze 0%, also 3H. Every source agrees on these three, so there is no ambiguity to report here — but a glossy panel behind a matte bezel, or the other way round, looks wrong the moment the lid is opened. If you are replacing a matte screen, order 03.1; if the old one is a mirror finish, order 03.0 or 02.3
Brightness and contrast 200 cd/m² typical on all three codes, per four panel records. One further record — the one used when the ThinkPad T430s listing was written — reads 220 cd/m² for B140XTN03.1; that is a different measurement of the same glass rather than a different panel, and both figures are printed here instead of one being chosen. Contrast is 500:1 on 03.0 and 02.3, 400:1 on 03.1. Fair summary: this is a 200 to 220 nit panel, dim by modern standards, and it was dim when the machines that used it were new
Refresh rate 60 Hz on all three codes. There is no high-refresh variant in this family and no 144 Hz panel that fits the same socket
Touch No. Non-touch, and there is no touch layer or touch lead to transfer. If the screen you are removing has a digitizer bonded to it, this is not the part — say so before ordering rather than after
Display interface LVDS, 1 channel, 6-bit, 40 pins, at 3.3 V. On the ThinkPad T430s the plug sits at the bottom right as you look at the back of the panel; on other chassis it can sit at the other end of the bottom edge, so match it against the panel in your hand. Lift the metal latch before pulling, and pull the plug body, never the cable. 40 pins is the check that matters: the 30-pin eDP panels in this family look identical in a listing photograph and cannot be plugged into a 40-pin socket
What you receive The panel only. No bezel, no hinge brackets, no cable, no screws. Your old screen's bezel, brackets and any earth strap are reused, so keep them — this is not a pre-assembled module with the lid frame around it
Outline and mounting 320.4 x 205.1 mm overall, 3.6 mm thick on 03.0 and 03.1, 3.2 mm on 02.3. Fixed by eight face-mount holes along the top and bottom edges — no side brackets, no adhesive-bonded glass, so the panel lifts out of the lid once the bezel and the screws are off. Handle it by the edges and never press on the face
Power 3.3 V over the LVDS connector. LED backlight with the driver on the panel — no inverter and no high-voltage lead
Operating temperature 0 to 50 °C operating, -20 to 60 °C storage
NOT the 30-pin eDP codes The 30-pin eDP codes that read almost identically: B140XTN03.3, B140XTN03.4, B140XTN02.6, B140XTN02.A, B140XTN02.E. Same size, same resolution, same look, different connector and different pin count — a 30-pin plug will not seat in a 40-pin socket, and the 03.3 / 03.4 pair is the one that catches people because the prefix is identical to two of the codes in this listing. We sell 03.3 / 03.4 as their own glossy entry, so check which one your machine takes
NOT HD+ 1600 x 900 The HD+ 1600 x 900 panels of the same generation. Same 14.0 inch size, same 40-pin LVDS connector, same slim frame — and they do not interchange. Fitting an HD+ panel to an HD machine, or the reverse, gives a fuzzy or blank picture rather than a crisp one. The resolution on the label decides it
NOT the FHD panels The FHD 1920 x 1080 panels. They arrive on 30-pin eDP or 40-pin eDP depending on the chassis and carry a different connector again. A 4K or FHD upgrade is not possible on this socket, and this listing is not sold as one

Before We Ship — Please Send Us These 2 Details

This listing covers three codes that differ only in finish, so the label and the plug are the two things we go by. After you place the order we will contact you for both, so please have them ready:

  1. A photo of the label on the back of the old panel. We need the full string, dot included — B140XTN03.0, B140XTN03.1 or B140XTN02.3. The characters after the dot decide the finish: 03.1 is matte, 03.0 and 02.3 are glossy. If your label ends in .3 or .4 on an 03 prefix — that is, B140XTN03.3 or B140XTN03.4 — stop and tell us, because that is the 30-pin eDP branch and a different listing.
  2. A photo of the connector, or just count the pins. This panel has one 40-pin LVDS plug and nothing else. Thirty pins means the 30-pin eDP branch; any second lead means a touch version, which this is not. If the count does not match, say so and we will stop the shipment rather than send a part that cannot be fitted.

We check what you send against our stock before dispatch. If something does not match we contact you first instead of shipping on a guess. Once your details are confirmed we arrange shipment within 1 to 3 business days. Thank you for helping us get it right.

Installation Notes

  • Shut down, unplug the power cord and remove the battery. The LVDS connector is not designed to be mated or unmated with the board energised.
  • Open the lid as far as it goes and prise the bezel off from the inside edge — the edge in contact with the screen, not the outer shell. Use a plastic pry tool; a screwdriver chips the plastic and marks the panel.
  • Lift the bezel clear and put it somewhere flat. On most chassis of this generation the panel is then held by four screws plus the eight mounting points along the top and bottom edges.
  • Release the 40-pin LVDS connector: lift the metal latch first, then pull the plug body. Never pull the cable, and never lever against the panel to get the plug out.
  • Note how the cable is routed and taped before you remove the old panel — it has to go back the same way or it will be pinched by the bezel.
  • Lift the old panel out by the frame. Do not press on the glass to get leverage, and do not flex the panel: a bent LCD shows permanent bright bands.
  • Transfer the brackets, tape and any earth strap from the old panel to the new one before seating it. This is a bare panel, so nothing comes pre-fitted.
  • Seat the new connector flat and square, latch it down, and confirm it is fully home. A plug sitting half a millimetre out gives an intermittent picture that looks like a dead panel.
  • Leave the protective film on, connect the machine without reassembling the bezel, and boot it. Check that the resolution reads 1366 x 768 and that there are no lines, flicker or dead pixels.
  • Only then remove the film, refit the bezel and the screws. Work in a clean, bright room — dust trapped under a glossy panel is very visible afterwards.

Quality Control

Strictly tested by the iProGadgets QC Team — every unit is double tested before shipping and ships in good working order, including a display check at full resolution across the whole surface. After receiving the part, please check the appearance and test it first: connect the panel to the machine for a functional test before full installation, and only reassemble once everything works. We are not responsible for any installation mistakes — if you are not experienced with laptop screen replacement, have the part fitted by a professional repair shop.

Shipping

We ship worldwide. Orders are dispatched within 1 to 3 business days, and every package carries a tracking number you can follow on the order page. Delivery typically takes 7 to 10 days after dispatch.

Returns & Warranty

30-day returns on unused, uninstalled parts. The warranty is valid until installed — once a screen has been fitted, the return window no longer applies, which is why we ask you to test before installation.

FAQs

Which of the three codes will I actually receive?

The one that matches your old panel. B140XTN03.0, B140XTN03.1 and B140XTN02.3 are the same part electrically and mechanically — same 14.0 inch 1366 x 768 glass, same 40-pin LVDS connector, same 3.3 V, same mounting holes — so any of them drops into the same socket and drives the same picture. What changes is the surface finish: 03.1 is matte, 03.0 and 02.3 are glossy. Send us the label photo after ordering and we will pack the matching one.

My old screen is matte but this listing says glossy — is that a problem?

It is if we send the wrong one, which is why we ask. The finish is decided by the character after the dot: B140XTN03.1 is matte, B140XTN03.0 and B140XTN02.3 are glossy. There is no finish option on the product page, so the label photo is what we use. A matte panel in place of a glossy one (or the reverse) still works perfectly — it just does not look like the screen you took out, and under office lighting a glossy panel reflects the ceiling where the matte one did not. Tell us which you are replacing and we will match it rather than ship and sort it out afterwards.

Is it 30-pin or 40-pin? I keep seeing both against these numbers.

These three codes are 40-pin LVDS, on every data record we checked. The 30-pin confusion is real and it comes from the neighbouring codes: B140XTN03.3, B140XTN03.4, B140XTN02.6, B140XTN02.A and B140XTN02.E are 30-pin eDP — same size, same resolution, same look in a photograph, different plug. The 03.3 / 03.4 pair is the dangerous one because the prefix is identical to two of the codes here. Count the pins on your old panel, or send us a photo of the plug, before ordering.

Will this fit a laptop that came with a 1600 x 900 screen?

No, and this is the most expensive mistake in this size of panel. HD 1366 x 768 and HD+ 1600 x 900 panels of the same generation are the same physical size, use the same 40-pin LVDS connector and sit in the same frame, so suppliers and buyers both assume they interchange. They do not — the machine is wired for one resolution and the other gives a fuzzy, scaled or blank picture. Check the resolution your machine reports in Settings before ordering. This is not an upgrade path and we do not sell it as one.

Is this an IPS panel? The picture looks washed out at an angle.

No — it is TN, and that is exactly the behaviour to expect. Viewing angles are 45/45/15/35 degrees with the best image at 6 o'clock, so colour and contrast fall away noticeably when you move off centre, especially vertically. IPS panels in this size and resolution were fitted to a few premium machines, arrive on a different connector in most cases, and are not what this listing is. If your old screen held its colour at an angle and you want that back, send us the label first and we will tell you honestly whether we have the IPS part.

Do I get the bezel, brackets and cable with it?

No — this is the panel only. No bezel, no hinge brackets, no cable and no screws. Your existing bezel, brackets, cable and any earth strap are reused, which is why the installation notes ask you to transfer them before seating the new panel. If you were expecting a complete lid assembly, tell us before ordering and we will say plainly whether we can supply one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this part compatible with my device?

This listing is for Display For B140XTN03.0 B140XTN03.1 B140XTN02.3 14.0 inch HD LCD Panel. It is built as a direct-fit replacement for the model named in the title. Match the model number in the title against your own device before ordering. If you are not sure which version you need, email sales@iProGadget.com and we will confirm the correct part for you.

What is the quality of these replacement parts?

We supply iProGadgets OEM Quality / Premium Compatible replacement parts. Every part is manufactured to OEM specifications, so the fit, finish and function match the original component it replaces, and each unit is individually tested before it leaves our warehouse.

Is the part tested before it is shipped?

Yes. Every part we sell is inspected before dispatch and tested wherever testing applies — screen assemblies are checked on the panel, the touch response and the connector. Orders are processed and shipped within 1-3 business days after payment is confirmed.

How long does shipping take?

Orders leave our warehouse within 1-3 business days. Express Shipping (DHL, UPS or FedEx) takes 5-8 working days and is normally used for parcels over 2 kg. Registered Air Post takes 10-20 working days and is normally used for parcels under 2 kg. Every order ships with a tracking number. Customs clearance can add extra time, especially during peak season.

Will I be charged import duties or customs fees?

Customs charges depend on your own country's import rules and its de minimis threshold, not on the seller. Some destinations apply no duty at all on lower-value parcels, and where duty or VAT does apply it is collected by your local post office or courier before delivery. We ship every order with complete and accurate commercial documents, which is what keeps a parcel moving through customs instead of sitting in it. If you would like to estimate the charges before you order, email us your country and we will point you to the right authority.

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day return policy, which means you can request a return within 30 days of receiving your item. To be eligible, the item must be unused, uninstalled and in the packaging it arrived in. Once a part has been fitted, bonded or used it cannot be returned, so please test the part before installation. To start a return, email sales@iProGadget.com.

What should I do if the part arrives damaged or faulty?

Inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If an item is defective, damaged or not what you ordered, contact us at sales@iProGadget.com straight away with photos or a short unboxing video, and we will arrange a replacement or a refund.

Do you provide repair guides or installation tutorials?

No. We are a supplier of replacement parts only. We are not a repair shop, and we do not provide repair guides, tutorials or step-by-step installation support. Every part we sell is intended to be installed by a professional technician at a qualified repair shop, which also gives the best result: a technician can transfer the small components, handle the adhesives and test the finished repair. Please do not attempt the installation yourself if you have no previous repair experience, as these assemblies are fragile and incorrect handling can damage them permanently. We sell parts only and do not accept responsibility for installation carried out by the customer. Our warranty covers the part itself and remains valid until the part is installed. If a problem appears after the repair, please take the device back to the repair shop that fitted the part so they can inspect the installation and test the device.

Still have a question about this part? Email us at sales@iProGadget.com and we will confirm compatibility, shipping time or return details for you.
